Around the World

In church this morning my conversations inevitably shifted to me giving people a run-down of where I’d been in the past 6-8 months.  I realized that I’ve literally been around the world in eight months–a little more than 80 days, but I’ll take it.  I went from New Jersey to Taiwan to Thailand back to Taiwan to Massachusetts to Italy to Germany for a day to New York to Massachusetts.  I also realized this morning how, to many people, this seems to be extreme amount of traveling crammed into a very short period of time.  Okay, maybe it was, but it was a phenomenal period of traveling.

And yet, even with all of the awesome places I visited and the great experiences I had, I am called to be present in the environment in which I am currently situated.  That being said, here are some things I’m thankful for in the current environment I am in:

  • A view from my window of the woods and pond behind campus
  • A car that gets me to where I need to go
  • People who are happy to see me back on campus
  • Air conditioning
  • Opportunities to serve people here on campus
  • Peanut butter cookies
  • A job
  • And much, much more…
That’s all for now.  Ciao.
